While I was busy installing new vitrine cabinets today, laying the groundwork for upcoming guest exhibitions, it became clear that this hub is destined to be a platform for all creative talent.   Wat maakt een atelier bijzonder? Soms is het niet het strakke uiterlijk van een galerie, maar de warme verrassing die bezoekers ervaren zodra ze binnenstappen. Vandaag was weer zo'n dag in mijn studio. Bezoekers kwamen niet alleen voor de kunst, maar ook voor het verrassende gevoel van thuiskomen. Met schilderijen die letterlijk aan het plafond hangen wegens plaatsgebrek, wordt elke hoek benut. Wat ik het mooiste vind? De interactie. Jong en oud, van designstudenten tot passanten, iedereen voelt zich welkom. Er werd koffie gedronken en ik kon rustig verhalen vertellen, terwijl ik buiten genoot van mijn shaggie. It started with delicious food brought straight to my studio, and just today, a brand-new pair of shorts for warmer days. It is a humbling reminder that "the world is good to artist Dwaalhaas ," as the local newspaper once put it. I rarely need to shop for essentials because my community simply shows up with care, love, and practical gifts. Being a living artist means sharing joy, and receiving it back so purely is a true blessing.

However, starting in 2027 , I'll be moving to an appointment-based system , so be sure to book in advance or check for openings on those days.
