As an artist living and working here in Woensel-West, my journey as Dwaalhaas has been enriched not just by creative expression, but by the constant generosity of my neighbors. People often romanticize the "starving artist" struggle, but the reality of my life here is entirely different. I'm not hungry; in fact, my studio is constantly stocked with spontaneous gifts of food and useful items dropped off at my door. I can't remember the last time I had to buy my own clothes, because the neighborhood simply ensures I'm warmly dressed. These gestures aren't about charity; they are about connection and community spirit. It reminds me why opening this space to the public was the right choice. So, here is not just an update from my studio, but a toast to the incredible people of Woensel-West.

  Van 6 tot en met 13 september staat de Zeeuwse bodem weer in het teken van creativiteit, expressie en Art Brut. Met de bekende #DwaalMobiel koers ik deze week af op De Kunstwei in Wolphaartsdijk en doorkruis ik het prachtige eiland Walcheren . Voor wie mijn avonturen en artistieke zoektochten volgt via de socials is het geen geheim: er gebeurt momenteel ontzettend veel rondom het merk Dwaalhaas! Sinds kort draait de officiële webshop op dwaalhaas.com op volle toeren. Hier vind je een uitgebreide collectie repro’s, kleding en toegepast design. Today is Friday, which I jokingly call my "Good Friday." It is the one day a week I indulge in a few brews and let the creative energy flow without any filters. The Leefmuseum and Art Gallery Dwaalhaas might be closed to the public today, but the real magic is happening behind the scenes. I am covered in paint, surrounded by swirling canvases, and embracing that authentic rock-and-roll lifestyle. I have no secrets and nothing to hide. I am just a human being who works incredibly hard, celebrates life passionately, and creates art directly from the heart.
